Meet Regina | Staff Spotlight

In 2003, Regina came to Youth Emergency Services (YES) to make a difference. In her 20-plus years with us as a Resident Specialist, she has more than done so—she has changed lives.

“I love making a difference in someone else,” she said on what drew her to working under YES’ mission.

From supporting the young men and women in YES’ group homes, to connecting youth with resources at our Street Outreach Center, Regina’s commitment to helping Omaha’s youth remained unwavering.

“I am very passionate about helping the younger generation take steps towards becoming self-sufficient,” she said. “I love being that listening ear or giving advice when needed.”

At YES’ Outreach Center, Regina helps young people by providing more than direct care. Through her role as a Resident Specialist, Regina connects clients with housing, job resources, and other means of support—including YES’ pantry bag service, which provides youth with five meals’ worth of groceries in one bag.

Regina also enjoys supporting fellow team members at YES by supplementing programming responsibilities with administrative tasks, too—managing data, implementing activities, and overseeing monthly reports. No matter her role or day-to-day tasks, however, Regina continues to make an impact in the young lives of those YES serves.

“Looking back on my 21 years with YES, it’s not the years or titles that matter—it’s the lives touched and the differences I have made. I'm grateful to still be making that impact every day.”
