Meet Gabe | Youth Spotlight

Gabe's journey was characterized by unforeseen twists and hurdles, but thanks to Youth Emergency Services (YES), he found a lifeline.

When a bit of trouble forced him away from home, his mother Melina turned to YES for help. With nowhere else to go, YES provided Gabe with a safe shelter and support network.

“I’m convinced that without YES, he would have ended up on the streets or somewhere else unsafe,” said Melina.

Due to legal matters, Gabe couldn’t live at his parent’s home and had nowhere to stay. Not quite 18 at the time, he didn’t have a job, and he wasn’t able to get his own apartment.

Despite encountering challenges, Gabe persevered, securing employment and finding stability through YES. Now, as he works towards securing housing, he's determined to pave the way for a brighter future. With aspirations of becoming an electrician, he's committed to forging ahead with YES by his side.

Melina is immensely grateful for the positive impact YES has had on Gabe's life.
